Bushnell V6 Rangefinder Review

Bushnell V6 Rangefinder: Accuracy, slick features, and an elegant design
The Bushnell V6 Rangefinder is an excellent choice for golfers looking to invest in a reliable rangefinder to complement their game. Bushnell made some great design choices and included features focused on making using the V6 a delightful experience to users. There are cheaper (and more expensive options out there) but the Bushnell V6 at $299.99 MSRP is a solid value for what you get with the V6.

The Basics

Reliability is a given with the V6. We got solid, accurate reads every time at our home course, where we could verify against other rangefinders, GPS options, and our personal experience. Accuracy and reliability breed confidence and the V6 is a dependable option for any serious golfer.

With the 6x magnification and 1300 yard range you also get clear and close-up views of any target. This allows you to make educated decisions about your shot choices in your pre-shot routine and will lead to better outcomes and scoring opportunities on the course.

Beyond that, its weather resistant design is rated IPX6 (can withstand high pressure, heavy sprays of water) so it can cope with the elements. If you do have an issue, Bushnell offers a 2 year limited warranty that covers defects but not issues from handling and/or misuse.

Why we loved it

One of the standout features of the V6 is the Visual Jolt that Bushnell has included on the V6. When you lock onto the flag, you feel a sturdy jolt from the rangefinder and a red ring flashes around the target. It makes locking in your distance when attacking the flag simple and builds confidence that you’ve got the right distance and read for your approach shot.

We also love the integrated magnetic Bite mount that lets you quickly attach/detach the rangefinder to to bar of the golf cart. It makes handling a breeze and keeps the rangefinder at your finger tips at all times. The accessibility really stood out compared to having other rangefinders bounce around in the cart or hanging in it’s case on your bag. The only drawback to that convenience is we’ve found you’re more likely to forget it on the cart at the end of the round. And yes, we have had to call the clubshop 1 or 2 times to have the cart crew set it aside for us when we forgot to grab it. Regardless of our poor memory, it’s an excellent feature that keeps your rangefinder secure and easily accessible during the round.

What we didn’t love

Simply put, the V6 doesn’t have the slope functionality that other rangefinders at this price point offer. Bushnell does also have the Tour V6 Shift model but at $399.99, you’re pushing into another price point. For us, it was a minor quibble but it can be a major factor in your buying decision depending on your priorities.

Conclusion

The Bushnell V6 rangefinder is a dependable option with some excellent features designed to make it a breeze to handle for users. It’s most glaring gap is the lack of slope functionality which may steer some buyers to other options at this price point.
