Golf Pride MCC Plus4 Grips Review

Golf Pride MCC Plus4 Grips: The Perfect Combo of Comfort and Control

The Golf Pride MCC Plus4 Grips have gained quite the reputation in the golfing world, and after giving them a try, it's easy to see why. These grips offer a unique combination of comfort and control that can greatly enhance any golfer's game.

The standout feature of the MCC Plus4 Grips is their tapered design, or lack there of in fact. The lower half of the grip has a larger outer diameter that is equivalent to 4 extra wraps of grip tape. In effect, this design provides an exceptional level of comfort, reduces tension and encourages lighter grip pressure. The feeling was a more fluid and smooth swing with a less active trail hand. Where it really stood out though was in difficult weather conditions, especially during rainy and sweaty rounds in the summer heat. Since we didn’t have as much tension in our hands, it didn’t feel like we were going to lose control during the follow through (a common issue I struggle with in wet conditions). On the whole, if you’ve ever experimented with building your grips up with extra layers of grip tape, especially the lower half, these could be the perfect solution for you.

The MCC Plus4 Grips also feature Golf Pride's Brushed Cotton Cord Technology for added stability. We’ve always been a fan of the corded grips for all-weather golf and these are no exception. This cord texture ensures a secure and firm grip, allowing for greater control and confidence. Whether you're swinging in wet or humid conditions, you can trust these grips to provide excellent traction and prevent slipping.

For those of you looking to style your set, they also come in a number of different color combinations (check with your local retailer for availability). We went with the blue/gray combo and they look great in our opinion.

In conclusion, the Golf Pride MCC Plus4 Grips are a fantastic choice for golfers seeking comfort and control. The Plus4 larger lower hand was a welcome addition and combined with the texture, gave us plenty of confidence in challenging weather conditions. If you're looking to elevate your game and enjoy a more relaxed and controlled grip, then the MCC Plus4 Grips are a must-try.

Rating: 8.5/10 (in wet conditions, 10/10)
